It's time to take my 20 pound turkey out of the freezer and put it into the fridge to thaw. I'll take this opportunity to clean the fridge and the freezer. As I sat down last night and wrote out the food I have, I was concerned about not having enough. So I called my sister-in-law, Theresa, about it and I need to buy more. I read her my menu and her advise was make more potatoes and corn. She's use to feeding large crowds. She's the oldest daughter with 2 brothers and 3 sisters all with kids of their own. She sure does know about cooking a lot of food on holidays. And she's good at it! Everyone is always full, happy and loved at her house.
I'm up to 10 people coming on Thanksgiving, including me and Joe. Now I worry about seating. I'm thinking of buying a card table with folding chairs to accommodate everyone. This isn't the first time I've worried about not having enough chairs. So I don't think it would hurt to have one. I don't think they are expensive in fact I bet Target has them on sale.Plus I hate to have my guests sit on plastic patio chairs.
After I clean the fridge, I'm going to clean the bathroom. Wash the walls & light fixtures, scrub the tub, sink and toilet, swiffer the floors and in between the radiator grooves then scrub the floor. This way next week I'll only need to spend a half hour or so cleaning it, getting it ready for guests.
I asked my husband to go Christmas shopping with me tonight. I didn't hear a yes. I might just go this afternoon. That way I can buy the rest of his gifts. Either way I'm hoping to get a good chunk of my shopping done. Then, like I said yesterday, I'll be coming home to wrap them. I'll put on some Christmas music, pour some hot tea or wine, depending on the time, and hopefully get a lot of wrapping done.
