Tonight I tried Rex-Goliath, Giant 47 Pound Rooster, a Shiraz from California.
I made a ground turkey meatloaf, mashed red potatoes, green beans and gravy. This wine is good with most meals because it is hearty, not too dry and not overwhelming. I like how the peppery-ness of it mixes well with the berry taste. And I also enjoy the subtle cherry flavor. This one is good with almost any meat dish and is perfect by itself.
I rate this wine a 4 out of 5. It's not too dry and certainly not sweet. A nice red table wine for any meal.
